Sorry for the length of this e-mail. Our team has been invited to play in the US Club regional tournament in Atlanta on October 9-10. http://www.soccerincollege.com/TTIntro3.aspx?tid=USCLUBN&tab=1&sub=0 This will take the place of the previously planned Virginia Beach tournament.
Travel arrangements are being handled by Anthony Travel of Atlanta. They have identified four hotels near the tournament fields for this event. By clicking on this link you can see the hotels and some basic info on the Anthony Travel web page. You can book on-line or call Anthony Travel at (800) 736-6377. This chart shows a hotel comparison as well as distances to the fields: Hotel Amenities Comparison
I wanted to get everyone at the Homewood Suites ($89, TripAdvisor Rating) but there were only three double-bed suites left. I got a room here and blocked the other two for our team. (They have plenty of king suites with a pull out sofa bed if that will suite your travel needs.)
The U14 team (and Joel, I think) are staying at the Courtyard ($99, TripAdvisor Rating) so I blocked the rest of our rooms over there. I suppose the Courtyard will be the "official" team hotel, but if you prefer the Homewood or another property, those are available too. Both of these hotels are off of I-85, but at different exits. (As another option, the Marriott Norcross for $74 (rating) looks pretty good, but it is further from the fields and is not right on the interstate; I did not check on availability.) All hotels will have complimentary breakfast for the tournament regardless of their day-to-day policies.
These rooms are blocked only until Friday September 17. After that that time, you can still book on-line or by phone, but your hotel of choice, or room choice, may or may not be available.
I'd recommend doing this ASAP, especially if you're interested in the Homewood.
